Tools for Social Change

Drawing on the 'Do It Yourself Handbook' this week long course will provide training in grassroots organising including:

  • Consensus decision making
  • Popular education
  • Effective campaigning

It will also explore how these tools can be used to set up long term projects e.g. land projects, social centres, community gardens and how we can work together effectively to achieve social change.

Topics offered include:

  • climate change
  • migration and borders
  • Privatisation and PFIs
  • the G8 and the global economy
  • practical steps to low impact living
