The Forest of Dean has 27,000 acres of ancient woodland to explore. The Severn Vale to the south east is famed for its tidal bore and orchards, and the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Beauty is a walking and river sports heaven.

The market towns of Ross on Wye, Monmouth, Abergavenny and Hereford are all nearby and have regular farmers markets. Gloucester city is within 20 miles and is home to the famous cathedral and great for shopping at the designer Gloucester Quays outlet park.

The local area has an abundance of activities to undertake and activity providers in the area can offer a range of activity days for the absolute beginner as well as the more experienced enthusiast. Nearby activities include walking, mountain biking, canoeing, cycling, climbing, high wire adventures and horse riding.

There are also numerous places of interest to visit and spend the day, such as the magical Puzzlewood where Doctor Who and Merlin have all recently been filmed, or if you want something a bit different and fancy learning about bushcraft and survival skills, check out Wilderness Discovery.
