Bokashi

The word Bokashi means fermented Organic Matter in Japanese and it is an aerobic semi-decomposition process taken by microbes under controlled conditions. click here for a PDF explaining Bokashi in full

Functions of these Ingredients and possible alternatives/additions.

-       Microbiology and mineral inoculants. Cow dung/Any type of manure

-       Homogenization of biotic and non biotic properties of mix. Clay soil/Old Bokashi/Compost

-       Silicon rich source as improver of physical characteristics in the mix. Woodchip/straw/hay/Cereal hulls

As we are talking about a high quality product produced under controlled conditions, the previous ingredients have to be supported by others in order to increase the quality of the amendment. The functions and the ingredients are:

-       Improvers of structure and texture of the Bokashi (among others benefits). Charcoal (in our case we use activated charcoal)

-       Source of Carbohydrates and Vitamins. Cereal Bran

-       Source of minerals (macro, micronutrients and trace elements). Ashes/Rock Dust/specific minerals

-       Source of sugar for microbes. Apple Juice/Molasses/Brown sugar

-       Microbiological inoculants to start the fermentation process. Commercial Yeast/local wild Yeast

Different groups of microbes develop as the Bokashi matures.  Juanfran has catured these on his microscope and they are set out in the graphic below. Click here for more detail.

    October 2020 - July 2022

    'Becoming one with our Earth'

Starts 8 - 11 October 2020 (scroll down for more dates)

A series of eight modules studying the contemporary areas of shamanism with an emphasis on eco reciprocity.

You will be embarking on your own personal eco shamanic journey within a community of like minded beings (and the more than human world) whilst also learning all the major shamanic healing techniques.  An Eco Shamanic Practitioner Certificate is awarded once all work has been completed and is dependent on attendance and competence. However this is not compulsory and the course can be taken without the 'Certificate' element.

Areas covered are (but not limited to) as follows:-

Perception, awareness and sensation - diving into ourselves as Earth - a marriage of senses and spirit (the sixth sense).

Spirits of land and nature, space and place (genius loci); accessing places and spaces of power; connecting to the more than human world (the anima mundi in all it's earthly forms).

Shamanic Counselling - helping humans help themselves via spirit: teaching humans the shamanic journey.

Vision quest - understanding the process of the journey within and without. Calling for a vision. Working with labyrinths.

The elements - a deep look at fire, earth, air and water (and the seasonal cycles of Sun and Moon).

Energetic medicine techniques and the recovery of power - identifying and remedying misplaced energy and power in humans and the more than human world.

Soul retrieval - the return of spirit essences for a more fulfilled life, for you and others, and the more than human world.

Eco Mapping - middle world nature/spirit healing for humans using perception and perspective. Oracular work focussing on divination.

Plant and animal spirits, guides, teachers and friends.

Sustainable living practises - you are what you eat, travelling lightly, future thinking, remote viewing.

The shamans horse (drum, rattle, sistrum and bell) - healing circles and the instrument’s voice or song / the nature of sound.

Psychopomp (death and dying) - assisting the dying and dead to find their true place of rest.

The beginning and end game - the nature of time, connection to source, authenticity, the ego and icons.
