The Yurt is comfortable and spacious for two people.

It is equipped with a wood burning stove for those chilly nights, and a complimentary basket of wood is included.

There is a handmade kingsize bed and four pillows for your comfort, and a table and two chairs to sit on and read your morning papers or enjoy your meals indoors.

The Yurt has an assortment of crockery, cutlery and cooking pots and a stove kettle. Tea towels and a small amount of complimentary cleaning supplies and loo rolls are also provided.

Please bring your own towels as these are not provided.

There is ample storage space under the bed and tea light lanterns to create a soft glow in the evenings.

Groceries are not provided, however, meat, vegetables and general groceries can be purchased locally or in nearby Cinderford or Ross on Wye.

We ask people not to wear outdoor shoes in the Yurt, so you may wish to bring a pair of slippers or thick socks.

There is a basic equipped kitchen outside the Yurt in a separate structure, which includes a sink and washing up area with hot running water.

There is an outside fire pit, and a kotlich for open-fire cooking.

There is a compost loo near to the Yurt just above the firepit and a super open-air shower just behind the kitchen. We have ensured your stay is completely self-contained.

Please do bring a torch or lantern, as lighting inside the Yurt is low level and and a torch may be useful when walking around after dark.

There are no electrical points within the Yurt.

Sorry no pets or animals are allowed on site.

  • Darren Doherty - Farm Planning Program

    18-21st June 2019

Ragmans Farm is proud to announce that Darren Doherty will be teaching his four day Regrarians Farm Planning course here in June.

Darren is one of the leading teachers in regenerative farming, combining the disciplines of Keyline Planning, Holistic Management, perennial planting, building carbon in the soil, mapping, and market access.

Matt dunwell in conversation with Darren Doherty

Regenerative farming has been developed by key people over the last 70 years such as P A Yeomans, Bill Mollison, Alan Savory, Jairo Restrepo, and Andre Voisin, and is now becoming recognised as the key tool in combatting climate change.  Darren Doherty has bought together their thinking into a cohesive programme that enables farmers to plan profitable enterprises that are not only resilient in the face of a changing climate, but help build soil carbon, rehydrate landscapes and create diverse systems . His work is based on solid practical experience across a wide range of production.
