The barn conversion is simple and rustic making full use of natural materials and green technology - and is a bit unconventional!

Kitchen/dining room, with spectacular view across the farm, it is equipped with a large fridge, a range-style cooker with one large six ring hob. There are trestle tables and benches in the dining area to enjoy your meals together. There is also a wonderful ceramic stove to keep you warm and cosy and help dry off any wet clothes.

Bedrooms are dormitory style areas (6 beds (4 beds, 2 mattresses), 4 beds, 3 beds and 2 beds). All beds are supplied with a sheet and pillow. However, you will need to bring a duvet or sleeping bag.

Living room - there is a large sitting area with a cosy woodburner, 32" Smart TV, sofas and beanbags to relax in.

Facilities; there are 3 eco-showers and 2 lo-flush toilets within the Bunkhouse, and a compost loo adjacent to the bunkhouse.

  • Introduction to Skep Beekeeping Course

    Time: 9.30am - 4pm

    Learn why, where and how it might be done.

    A concise, one day course on the art of skep beekeeping. Participants will learn about the history of skeps, referencing some of the old master skeppists, their varying styles of skeps and systems of management.

    The course will include hands-on sessions with artefacts and tools and techniques. Mysteries will be be revealed concerning different shelters, floors and stands; spleets, snecks and garts; bennets, laps and litches and more. We will discuss best practice, harvest and health, enjoying indoor theory and outdoor practical sessions within the beautiful setting of Ragmans Lane Farm.
