We now supply bags of shiitake and oyster spawn that can be used to inoculate your own supply of logs. As long as you have access to logs of oak, poplar or birch you can now make about 25 three foot logs that will produce many crops of mushrooms over their lifetime. The inoculation kits come with full instructions.

We send out a bag of spawn. This has been grown in sterile conditions in a bag with a filter patch on to allow the spawn to breathe without contamination by other fungal spores. While the spawn is in the sealed bag it is easy to handle and can be kept in the fridge. Once opened you will need to follow inoculation instructions included in the kit.

We also include a beautiful brass inoculation tool. This makes it easy to pick up 'plugs' of spawn and push them into the pre drilled holes that you will have made in the log. With careful use it will last a lifetime.

We supply the drill bit too! And also a block of food grade wax that you need to seal the spawn into the log with. This means that as long as you have access to newly cut roundwood, we can supply you with all the materials needed to start your own mini mushroom farm.

Your kits will be sent by DHL and are usually despatched within 7-10 days.
